Mercedes Viano Brabus Lounge Concept
It’s a minivan! It’s an office! It’s a cinema! No, it’s the Mercedes Viano Brabus, and there is nothing mini about this van, except for the fact that it is still smaller than your average truck. The designers of the Brabus decided that it wasn’t just enough to include a television and reclining chairs in a van and call it luxury, they decided to redefine luxury itself.
The rear seats are fully power adjustable, reclining all the way back for the ultimate in sleeping comfort, perfect for those long road trips. Of course, these seats are leather covered, would we really expect anything else?
Nestled between the seats is a console which provides access to the air conditioning, and includes a touch screen to control the inbuilt multimedia system.
Say goodbye to those 7 inch tv screens, the Brabus comes with a 32 inch LCD monitor which acts as a computer monitor, movie screen, and high definition television player. The Brabus is also fully equipped with a Dolby Surround sound system that provides HiFi quality.
Of course, you can’t go to the movies without the sna
cks, and the Brabus delivers there too. A coffee maker, refrigerator, and various storage compartments allow you to carry everything you need for a great night in at the moving movies. If you want to get intimate whilst watching, that is also no problem, the Brabus comes with a partition that can be raised and lowered electronically. This partition separates the rear cabin from the front, and allows you to enjoy your entertainment in peace.
The exterior of the Brabus is no soccer mom design, instead you have Xenon powered high beams, guaranteed to cut through the darkest of nights. The sides of the mini van, instead of looking blocky have been rendered stylish with the addition of fender flares on both front and rear axle, and the 18 inch Monoblock light-alloy wheels will keep people looking. Tyres for the Brabus are produced by renowned producer Yokohoma, quality has not been spared anywhere on the Brabus. It also features a sexy low ride suspension, just 25 millimeters in the front, and 20 millimeters in back.
But you want to know the specs don’t you, you want to know the numbers that make up the technical reality of this vehicle. The V8 model Brabus can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, which isn’t shabby for a minivan with a cinema on board. It also has a top speed of 250 km/h, making it the fastest minivan in the world.
It also comes in a V6 model, which when tuned still goes from 0 – 100 in an impressive 7.2 seconds, and posses a top speed of 230 km/h. The standard model comes with a Viano 2.2 CDI common rail turbo diesel engine, and can be enhanced with the Brabus D3 (II) PowerXtra performance kit, which generates peak torque of 370 Nm at 2,000 rpm, and can go from 1 to 100 in 10.6 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h. Nice.
